Parsons Paris & Learnlight: Creating Citizens of the World

Author: Learnlight

Parsons Paris welcomes a rich diversity of cultures, opinions and personalities. The growing international population, that makes up about a third of the student body, is an important part of the school’s diversity.

Parsons Paris students come from over 50 different countries including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, China and Russia. The school strives to harness this diversity to make the campus a richer, more vibrant community for all who study and work there.

Learning happens not only in the classroom but in every aspect of student life – be it in the School or in the city. Intercultural understanding and tolerance must therefore be key parts of the learning process.

Many first-year students encounter wide-ranging diversity for the first time in their lives. This exposure to so many nationalities, cultures, attitudes and beliefs means that culture shock is a common factor among the student body.

Preparing Future Leaders to Excel Internationally

The Parsons Paris pastoral care program is fully integrated throughout the teaching and learning and structural organization of the School to effectively meet the personal, social (wellbeing) and academic needs of students and staff. This program extends to helping students integrate into Parisian life and adapt to their new multicultural surroundings.

“We have to make sure that when students go out into the world, they can work with others, they can relate to others and do the things that will make this place, this planet, a better place for all of us.”
Florence Leclerc-Dickler | Dean of Parsons Paris
