Inclusion is not built through one initiative, one policy, or one moment of recognition. It is built through ongoing action, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to creating a workplace where people feel valued, heard, and able to thrive.
That is why we are proud to share that Learnlight has renewed its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Workplace Certification™ for 2026/27 from Diversity Social, following our first certification in 2024.
For Learnlight, this renewed certification is more than a recognition. It reflects the values that guide who we are, how we work, and how we support our people, clients, learners, and communities around the world.
DEI as Part of Who We Are
At Learnlight, DEI is not a standalone initiative—it is embedded in how we work, lead, and grow as a global organization.
The renewal of our DEI Workplace Certification™ reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where people feel respected, included, and empowered to reach their full potential.
As Rupert Hillier, Co-Founder of Learnlight, shared:
“We believe the best ideas and innovations come from a diverse and inclusive workplace. Central to our mission is helping companies develop the human skills that build empathy, understanding and connection to unlock more effective communication in the workplace. This also applies to our own workforce development: at the heart of a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment is the ability to understand, empathise, and connect with colleagues and customers from different backgrounds and perspectives. It’s a mission we endeavour to live every day. That’s why we’re so proud and grateful to be recognized again with a DEI Workplace Certification.”
The same human skills we help our clients build are the ones we strive to practice every day within our own teams.
How We Bring DEI to Life
At Learnlight, DEI is reflected in both who we are and how we work. From leadership and talent practices to policies, training, and employee support, inclusion is embedded throughout the employee experience.
Key highlights include:
- Diverse leadership: Our Executive Leadership and Senior Management teams represent 9 nationalities and have a 67% to 33% female-to-male ratio.
- A clear DEI framework: Our strategy focuses on four pillars — Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging — guiding how we attract, support, and develop talent.
- Inclusive policies and practices: Our Culture Book, onboarding process, and Ethics & Compliance Channel help foster a respectful, supportive, and safe workplace.
- Ongoing learning: DEI, language, cultural awareness, and interpersonal skills training help strengthen understanding, collaboration, and connection across teams.
- A global workforce: Our team represents 55 nationalities across 40 countries, bringing diverse perspectives that enrich how we work and serve our clients.
Helping Organizations Build More Inclusive Global Teams
As a communication skills training company, we also empower other organizations to embrace the principles of understanding, empathy, and connection.
To date, Learnlight has supported over 1 million learners in 180+ countries with language, intercultural, and interpersonal skills, helping global teams communicate, collaborate, and build stronger connections.
This work is guided by the same belief that shapes our internal approach to DEI: that people are better able to work together when they have the skills to understand different perspectives, communicate with respect, and create meaningful connections.
Extending Our Impact Beyond the Workplace
Learnlight’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives align closely with our DEI strategy, extending our impact beyond the workplace and into the communities we support.
In 2025 and 2026, we are supporting the School of Hope in Jocotenango, Guatemala, through the Education for the Children Foundation. The school’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education, empowerment, and enterprise at the heart of the community. Our ongoing collaboration has helped the school continue its operations, supporting students and families through access to education and opportunity.
This latest initiative forms part of our broader social responsibility efforts and builds on the causes and organizations we have supported over the years, including:
Driving change
Supporting organizations such as the International Cultural Diversity Organization and the Malala Fund to help advance education, inclusion, and gender equality.
Creating opportunities
Contributing to initiatives such as Room to Read, Team Kenya, and Josiah’s House, which support underserved communities through education and opportunity.
Showcasing commitment
Aligning with the UN Global Compact principles in support of human rights, environmental sustainability, and anti-corruption.
Supporting communities and the planet
Participating in environmental initiatives such as JUST ONE Tree and the Gyapa Efficient Cookstoves project in Ghana to help reduce environmental impact.
Looking Ahead: A Continued Focus on Inclusion
Alongside other recognitions we have achieved, such as the Golden Cell of Excellence, the renewal of our DEI Workplace Certification™ is a meaningful recognition of our ongoing focus on inclusion, belonging, and responsible business practices.
It is also a reminder that inclusive workplaces do not happen by chance. They are built through intentional action, continuous learning, and a shared responsibility to create environments where people can do their best work.
Thank you to everyone at Learnlight who helps make this achievement possible, today and every day. Together, we are continuing to build a brighter, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for all.
